Guided Mountain Adventures by Colin

Moors to Mountains is a resource designed to help you get the most out of any outdoor experience, whether it be an adventurous ridge walk or finding some respite in the natural world.

Hello, it's Colin here. Since 2011, I have been organising and leading walks and expeditions across the UK. As a qualified Mountain Leader, my aim is to provide a means for you to enjoy the experiences that the great outdoors has to offer in a fun, safe and responsible manner.

Guided Walks for Groups and Individuals

My skills, experience and knowledge allow for exciting adventures across the mountains and hills of northern England, Wales and Scotland. Many of us spend time dreaming of scrambling up on a ridge, scaling a summit or just enjoying a serene view from a hillside wild camp. These are the areas of hill walking that I personally enjoy the most and it is my absolute pleasure to be able to share such moments with others.

Getting out and about is not always perceived to be easy for some individuals. I am happy to advise on suitable routes and organise a day out to suit your needs and abilities. This could include forest walks or lowland rambles, where there is usually an abundance of wildlife and natural or historical features to discuss and appreciate.

Tailored Guided Walks for Every Adventure

Over the years that I have spent organising and guiding people up and over some of the most iconic hills and mountains the British Isles, many individuals have asked to tackle routes that present a sense of achievement upon completion. This might be making a traverse one of the famous Lake District ridges, such as Striding Edge or Sharp Edge, or perhaps climbing the highest mountain in Wales, Yr Wyddfa (also known as Snowdon), standing 1085m above sea level.

These sort of challenging routes are exactly what appealed to me when I was first cutting my teeth as a hill walker, and I still experience the same excitement and sense of adventure to this day when I take a wander along Striding Edge and up on to Helvellyn.

Managing groups across some mountainous terrain that may appear to be quite tricky or exposed has earned me a wealth of experience. I offer clients the peace of mind that they are in safe hands and with somebody who can make sound judgement on the varied terrain that we experience across British hills and mountains.

Wherever your inner sense of adventure is leading your gaze, it is my job to help you achieve that goal safely and responsibly. I prefer to keep my tailored walks to small group sizes to allow for me to offer my utmost attention and provide an informative experience along the way.
