DofE School Club

Bring the Duke of Edinburgh Award to life at your school with our In-School DofE Club. Designed to take the stress out of running the program, we provide expert leadership and guidance for all aspects of the DofE journey. From training sessions to practice and qualifying expeditions, we’ll ensure your students are fully prepared and supported every step of the way.

Led by qualified Mountain Leaders with extensive experience in both education and DofE expeditions, our service empowers school staff to focus on supporting students without the added pressure of logistics and planning.

What’s Included:

• Weekly in-school training sessions covering navigation, teamwork, and outdoor skills.
• Fully guided practice expeditions and qualifying expeditions, tailored to the abilities of your students.

Founders Story…

Hi, I’m James—a Mountain Leader, a science teacher with 15 years of experience, and Doctor of Palaeontology and Geology. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: Head of Department, STEM Coordinator, Duke of Edinburgh Manager (for 15 years!), and lifelong adventurer. When I’m not climbing, canoeing, or hiking, you’ll probably find me helping others discover their love for the outdoors instead.

For me, there’s no better classroom than the great outdoors. I’ve spent my career teaching and inspiring young minds, and now I’m combining my passion for nature and education to help children and adults reconnect with the world around them.

Whether it’s guiding kids through real-world learning outside the classroom, helping adults escape the daily grind, or creating bespoke experiences for Duke of Edinburgh groups, hen and stag weekends, and social days, I’m here to make the outdoors fun, accessible, and transformative for everyone.
