Walking Britain – free walking information
With over 2,000 walks and 23,000 pages of free walking information, "Walking Britain" offers a wide range of walks in England, Wales and Scotland. The routes range from easy circular walks to challenging mountain hikes. Walking along the coast, by rivers and lakes, through the countryside and across the hills, moors and mountains are all available. All routes are free to download and print with many having GPX files.
Routes in all the National Parks feature strongly with the Lake District, Peak District, Snowdonia and Yorkshire Dales featuring excellent coverage of the best walks. Walking in the Counties and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) are many and varied. Circular walks based on the long distance footpaths with the Pennine Way and South West Coast paths probably the most popular with walkers.
Although the natural world is the theme, man-made elements such as villages, bridges, mines and churches are also included in the many walking routes.
