Hello, my name is Lizzy, and I founded ‘Whats Not To Hike’ to share my passion for the great outdoors. I lead most activities myself, but I have a small, dedicated, friendly and equally experienced team that I can fully rely on to deliver a personal touch and ensure you enjoy your day. We all bring something different to support your training and our broad experiences allow a variety of activities to be delivered under high quality, professional instruction and/or guiding. Most importantly though, our team will ensure we maximise your fun and enjoyment in a safe and rewarding way.
We can all gain so much from being outdoors – whether that’s new experiences, learning, making new friends, challenging yourself, or just enjoying the fresh air and the beauty that nature brings with it. I am a big believer that the journey, rather than the destination, is the most important thing and what brings us memories and happiness – although saying that I also like the sense of achievement that comes with reaching a summit or the top of a climb!
We offer numerous activities and guided adventures – whether you already love the great outdoors or are discovering it for the first time. We specialise in outdoor adventure experiences such as navigational skills, hill and mountain skills, lowland and mountain guided walks, Nordic Walking and rock climbing. With all our activities we aim to provide you with a rewarding, memorable and safe experience. I also have a blog that includes articles on hiking, climbing, travelling, nature and many other things. At ‘Whats Not To Hike’ I hope to inspire and help you to explore, learn about and love the great outdoors, after all, ‘Whats Not To Hike’!
I can offer all types of instruction in Navigational Skills, for all abilities and levels, from bespoke days to the National Navigation Award Scheme. Maybe you are training for a Mountain Training Qualification, or are wanting to get out walking more yourself, or simply want to learn some new skills.
