Description
The Carriage House is a characterful home with plenty to offer guests, from original wooden beams to beautiful exposed stonework all blending seamlessly with comfortable sofas and tasteful furnishings throughout.
The modern fully-fitted kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the lounge/dining room has plenty of sumptuous seating for a cosy night in.
Upstairs, the bedroom is filled with natural light and has a beautiful, exposed stone wall complete with tool marks from the stone mason of long ago.
A small study with an antique solid wood desk and chair, makes the most of its dual aspect windows offering views to the church, down the high street and across the fields and beyond.
Outside there is a small private courtyard with climbing wisteria and bistro seating for those warmer evenings. Blockley's beautiful church, churchyard and vicarage are featured in the filming of "Father Brown", a period BBC detective drama, and The Carriage House itself can often be seen. The charming village of Blockley boasts many other historic buildings including a converted water mill along the brook; a fabulous community run café and well stocked shop; and two pubs within walking distance.
